Round-Up: GOP Finally Starting to Be Held Accountable

Let’s see-

-Bush’s Social Security ideas don’t seem to be getting anywhere

-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is under fire from Democrats AND some Republicans over possible influence peddling, ethics violations, and not-so-veiled threats of violence to judges of whose decisions he disapproved

-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is having trouble in his quest to change Senate rules so the GOP can hammer in Bush’s too-conservative judicial appointees. There is major opposition from sensible people, both Democrats and Republicans. In addition, both evangelicals and business leaders are starting to disapprove, creating headaches for Frist and putting his 2008 presidency hopes in peril

-Bush’s nominee to represent the U.S. for the United Nations, John Bolton, is getting heat for both his harsh treatment of his staff (not a big deal, really….who hasn’t had a boss who was harsh?) and his apparent cherry-picking of intelligence to suit his needs. THAT is a big problem. Bush and his buddies did the same thing to force us into invading Iraq.

Bush and the Republicans are finally starting to get some heat for their dishonest and sometimes fraudulent actions, and not because of the "liberal media" that they often blame for their problems. They brought these problems on themselves, and it’s about damn time they faced the music for all their nonsense.
